Hello, My name is Taylor Schaus. I am a 17 year old boy, that was born and raised in prince George, British Columbia. I grew up with both my parents ( Nick and Gloria Schaus) and my older brother, Nick Schaus Jr. When I was younger, I liked to play all sports especially soccer and road hockey. When I was in grade 3, I decided to join judo after I was told by a friend it was really fun. After a few years of practice I went to my first tournament in Abbotsford and decided that I wanted to stay in the sport and I grew a passion for it. After a few years and lots of tournaments, I was asked if I wanted to go to my first nationals in Toronto. Since it was my first nationals I didn't do as well as I would have liked but I thought of it as a learning opportunity. After that nationals I lost my drive to train and compete but after I went to a tournament and won I got back that passion and will to compete. In January 2016 I was invited to compete in the Elite 8 National Championships. It was a big accomplishment in my judo career and now I am training to go back next year and do better than I did this year.
